Computing Curriculum Statement
At Braintcroft E-Act Academy we encourage children to develop computational thinking and independent learning skills, which will prepare them for success in a rapidly changing world.
We use technology as a tool for learning and the key for raising standards in all subjects. Through the new programme of study for computing, pupils will learn how computers and computer systems work, they will use Espresso Coding and Scratch to design and build programs, develop their ideas using technology and create a range of content.
All our pupils learn how to use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private; they can identify where to go for help and support when they have concerns about content or contact on the internet or other online technologies.
We currently run an after school Code Club where pupils learn how to make their own games, animations, and websites with coding languages such as Scratch, HTML/CSS, and Python.
